Paperback publication day for ‘Let it Snow’ @AvonBooksUK @BFLAgency

Today sees paperback and audiobook release for

Let it Snow!

I’m excited that it will be on book shop and supermarket shelves today, especially after the ebook has done so well, bobbing about in the top 100 for most of the past few weeks, rising as high as #26. Thanks to all the readers who have bought it.

Last night we had a launch event at Rothwell Library where I sold out of all the prepublication stock I had. The audience was fantastic and my friend Mark West a great organiser and interviewer. Thanks also to the Friends of Rothwell Library for putting on the event. Rothwell is a community library now and volunteers are keeping libraries going.

I hope that readers enjoy Lily’s journey, both emotional and physical, from the frosty cottages of Middledip to the snowy mountains of Switzerland. It begins with a determination to find her half-brothers and ends with a lot of hard choices.

Let is Snow is available in paperback, audio and ebook now!

Tring Book Festival @tringbookfest – event news

The events are coming thick and fast at the moment. I’m really looking forward to this event in Tring not just because they’re putting on an AWESOME festival but because I’ll be sharing the slot with my author buddy Jules Wake. I love her books! She also writes as Julie Caplin too so she keeps me in plenty of reading fodder.

If you’d like to come along to the event, here are the details:

SUE MOORCROFT AND JULES WAKE – IN CONVERSATION

Date Saturday 16th November 2019
Time 5:30 PM
Doors Open 4:45 PM

Having written over thirty contemporary romances between them, Sue and Jules are passionate about love stories. This hugely popular genre developed from works that included those of William Shakespeare, Jane Austen and the Brontë’s. Appealing to both men and women, young and old, the latest, edgier love stories are a commercial success and give voice to new kinds of stories. They’ll be discussing why we love this genre and what we find so appealing about it!

Bedford International Writing Competition open for entries @BedfordWritComp

Screenshot 2019-04-29 at 07.39.54

The Bedford International Writing Competition opens for entries today!

Apart from great cash prizes in four categories of short story and poetry, the competition offers you the opportunity to get your work noticed by editor Eleanor Dryden or agent Kate Nash.

There will be an awards evening in Bedford in early 2021 – I was a judge last year and thoroughly enjoyed the event at the Quarry Theatre.

BIWC also supports literary charities and I can recommend it.

If you’d like to learn more or to enter, here’s the link to the website. Click on ‘Competition’ at the top and select a category.

Good luck!

Women in Business Conference #SSconf19 #sociallyshared

WIB logo- date

Although I’ve spoken at conferences before this is the first time I’ve been invited to do so as a businesswoman – though being an author means I am one. I’m a one-person organisation with accounts and paperwork to complete, social media campaigns to run, forward planning to do and relationships to nurture. Although I’ll sometimes joke that I make stuff up for a living, there’s more to being an author than that.

My talk at the Women in Business ConferenceTwenty Years to become an Overnight Success, will cover:

My long road to bestsellerdom, including some of the wrong turns along the way

Where I am now

My working practices.

How I work with Avon Books UK (HarperCollins) and Blake Friedmann Literary Agency to create the best books I can and sell them around the world.

WIBC conference speaker

An author panel will follow comprising:

Sue Moorcroft – Contemporary women’s fiction

Shelley Wilson – Multi-genre fiction and personal development non-fiction

Lyn Bromley – Business and management non-fiction

Elizabeth Beetham – Health and wellbeing non-fiction and poetry

We’ll be interviewed by BBC Journalist, TV and Radio Presenter Joanna Tidman. A book stand will be available for delegates to visit and purchase copies of books written by the panel and other local authors.

You can access further information about the Women in Business Conference and book here. It looks like a wonderful day! I hope to see you there.
