RNA Conference 2012

Kate Thomson, Christina Courtenay (Pia), self and lovely-lady-whose-name-I-missed. Thanks to Jean Bull for the pic.

OK, I’ve finally found time to talk about the Romantic Novelists’ Association, 2012, at Newton Rigg Campus, Penrith. Despite the fact that my journey of 3hrs 50mins (according to AA Maps) took five hours in hurtling rain, we had a mainly dry weekend, with some sunshine!

As is usual at any RNA gathering, funky footwear was of paramount importance, especially at the gala dinner on Saturday evening.Β  (Mine on the right.) (Sorry, I forgot to pack tights.)

Conference highlights for me were the talk on social media by Talli Roland, Pixar storylines from Julie Cohen and the analysis of women’s fiction from Kate Harrison.

The Romaniacs, plus a few friends.

Debbie White shows off her wax job. Nikki Goodman can’t look.

And the fabulous company of fabulous friends.

And the kitchen party hosted by the Romaniacs on Friday evening.

Great conference. Loved it.

Kitchen party! So sorry for those we kept awake.

  1. Sounds like another successful RNA weekend. Shame I missed it, especially the kitchen parties – they’re what makes the conferences such fun. πŸ™‚

  2. Catherine Miller

What a fab time it was!

    Catherine x

  3. I liked the Facebookj pics of shoes. Said it all – oh, and the glasses of wine. What fun you all have – when do you find time to write anything?

  4. Stars shining bright above you… Thank you so much for being a willing guest in our naughty kitchen, Sue πŸ™‚ Next year… x

  5. Great post, the conference was fantastic! Thanks again for the stop over and being my chauffeur! x

  6. Great post, Sue. And the unwitting reminder that I still haven’t posted on my blog. OOPS! I’ve got the excuse that I’ve been feeling under the weather because I picked up a cold-type virus while I was away!

  7. Jackie Sayle (Brown)

Didn’t post the ‘singing’ video, did you? πŸ™‚ All ready for WH now? Liver rested etc?

  8. Looked like so much fun, and having attended last years, I know it probably was! Thanks for sharing the pictures. And your legs look fine, btw. lol!
